POSITION SUMMARY

Reports To: Unit Director AIS/PIP Screening Coordinator

Trainings: Annual, Suicide Prevention, CPI, HSFAC

Position Summary:

The AIS Triage Case Manager is responsible for providing prompt telephone screening of potential referrals to AIS, PIP Mobile Outreach, and Psychiatric Intervention Program. The AIS Triage Case Manager will have a personal philosophy which is person-centered and embodies wellness, recovery and resiliency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Provides prompt and accurate triage of incoming calls and initiates appropriate referral.

•Exhibits a person-first approach in all interactions and interventions.

•Provides competent risk assessment as appropriate

•Provides screening for substance use or other behavioral health related problems

•Provides competent crisis intervention as appropriate

•Completes appropriate documentation in a timely and accurate manner according to ABH standards

•Demonstrates knowledge of ABH and community resources

•Proficient in the knowledge and skills described in the core competency curriculum for each assigned age/disability group

•Assures timely completion and filing of triage documentation and forwarding of documentation to appropriate sources

•Maintains service orientation to internal and external customers

•Attends 80% of all scheduled staff meetings

Minimal Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field, plus three years post-bachelor's, full-time, professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting; or

Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field, plus two years post-bachelor's, full-time, professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting and currently enrolled in a Master's program

Must meet minimum requirements for NJ Mental Health Screener Certification. Active NJ Mental Health Screener Certification preferred or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.

Training: Crisis Intervention, Suicide prevention, Heart Saver First Aid, CPR, AED

Valid NJ drivers license for use of company vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

Training/Experience: Experience in Crisis Intervention, Psychiatric Assessment, Insurance Verification.

Strong knowledge of Community Resources

Excellent Organizational Skills

Training/ Experience in Substance Use Evaluation

Equipment Use: Computer, facsimile, shredder, copier, Electronic Medical Record
