We need a collaborative and innovative leader like you to join our team as our next Regional Administrator at the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA)Adult Protective Services Division (APS). ALTSA APS is responsible for investigating allegations of abandonment, abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and self-neglect of vulnerable adults living in Washington, making referrals, and providing protective services to those we serve. Your success as Regional Administrator will rely on your ability to develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders while seeking ways to improve our services that protect vulnerable adults in our community. In this important leadership role, you will oversee all field operations in Region 3, a region based out of the Tacoma area of southern Puget Sound, a community rich in history, culture, and natural beauty.
As a strategic leader in APS, you will have the opportunity to identify and implement strategies for protecting and serving those most vulnerable. These efforts will include educating the community around vulnerable adult maltreatment and serving the rapidly growing aging population in Washington State. Your leadership will support the mission of ALTSA; to transform lives by promoting choice, independence, and safety through innovative services.
You will also have the opportunity to manage several areas of operation across the region, including budgets, staffing resources, hiring decisions, personnel matters, labor concerns, fiscal accountability, facility and space management, policy implementation, quality and performance standards, as well as strategic measures set by ALTSA.
Some of what you'll do

  • Develop and establish strong working relationships with community partners, key stakeholders, other agencies, administrations and divisions, and tribal governments
  • Responsible and accountable for daily operations, policy implementation, quality, and strategic measures, budget and staffing allotments
  • Development of regional strategic business plans
  • Response to inquiries and constituent concerns
  • Collaboration with local legislative representatives around policy and client issues
  • Establish and maintain positive public relations through community outreach and educational efforts
  • Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries and coordinate with the DSHS media affairs office to respond to media requests and inquiries
  • Represent the division in community presentations and workgroups

  • Experience in successfully developing and implementing new programs or initiatives
  • Experience in comprehending, interpreting, and applying federal, state, and local laws, codes of regulations, and policy and procedures
