The purpose of your role as a Payroll Specialist As Payroll Specialist, you will be the main payroll point of contract for your assigned region, assisting with needs such as layoff checks, reports, and general questions. Manage payroll setup for new employees and work closely with accounting to ensure job cost setup is correct in all systems. This role will also manage our time entry system, UKG Time and Attendance, for their assigned region. Develop best practices and assist with questions. This role can be performed fully remotely.

  • Manage union new hire entry and payroll setup
  • Manage UKG Time and Attendance time approval and compliance - point of contact for assigned locations
  • Respond to time entry questions
  • Regional contact for off cycle/layoff checks
  • Weekly certified payroll and monthly utilization reports, set up and monitor Prevailing Wage needs
  • Process reports such as Variance Reporting and Union Reporting
  • Assist with Union audits for assigned companies
  • Maintain Union Rate tables
  • Identify and correct payroll record discrepancies between systems

What we're looking for in you

  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Prior payroll experience in a union environment
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and accounting practices
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Associates degree preferred in business, accounting, or related
  • Prior experience with UltiPro/UKG preferred
