The Dean's Office Coordinator serves as a staff member in the Fowler College of Business assigned to the Dean's Office. Under the direct supervision of the Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the incumbent will serve as the Office Manager for the Dean's Office to assure smooth day-to-day operations.
The purpose of the Dean's Office Coordinator is to organize, manage and coordinate various and complex academic processes within the Dean's Office. In this role, the Dean's Office Coordinator provides direct support to the Dean and Associate Dean to accomplish their agenda's and to maintain smooth operations for the Dean's Office. The Dean's Office Coordinator is in close contact with and acts as the primary assistant to the Dean and Associate Dean furthering their agendas and priorities and assisting in managing and organizing their individual day-to-day activities

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary). This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Access
- Three years' experience in an office support capacity
- Three years' experience in an academic setting
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,687 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,352 - $5,639 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
