Beginning in late 2022, the Ad Council will be launching a groundbreaking Mental Health Initiative to holistically address the growing mental health crisis across numerous American populations. The initiative will be comprised of deep research and insights, a massive coalition of public and private partners, and an integrated communications campaign (media, social, digital, employer resources, etc).

Job Summary

Within the Ad Councils Mental Health Initiative, the Assistant Manager, Community Partnerships & Marketing will support the team leading relationships with outside partners, community organizations, and trusted messengers to reach key community audiences. Reporting to the Ground Game Lead and Ground Game Director, you will work collaboratively on a cross-functional team to support the development and execution of community-based partnerships, activations, and events around the issue of mental health. In first year of the initiative, there will be an emphasis on reaching Black audiences, Hispanic audiences, and faith communities.

In this role, you will support a multi-pronged effort to reach audiences through partnerships, trusted messengers, faith leaders, national and local events, community activations, and other channels. This fast-paced position is perfect for someone who has strong written and oral communication skills, is hoping to develop project management experience, has an appetite for reaching key communities with critical mental health messaging, and is passionate about social change. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, to help create this groundbreaking effort.

This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of at will employment, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract. The compensation for this position is $4,500-5,500 monthly, paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. We are also open to this role being a fully remote position.

What youll do:

  • Support relationships with agency and partners to reach key audiences around the topic of mental health.
  • Lead the curation and coordination of resources in the online toolkits for partners, in collaboration with the Ad Councils digital team.
  • Review social assets and copy for events and promotions, in collaboration with Ad Councils social media team.
  • Develop and maintain internal resources to track and communicate about the project including calendars, project timelines, KPI trackers, internal folders, and PowerPoint slides.
  • Conduct landscape reviews and desk research around partnerships and trusted messengers in the mental health space.
  • Support key presentations and meetings with external agencies and partners, including scheduling and meeting notes as needed.

What you bring:

  • 1+ year of experience working on marketing and/or community-based efforts, with an emphasis on reaching multicultural audiences.
  • Very strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative approach.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations and/or community events is a plus.
  • Passion for having an impact in the mental health space; experience working on the topic of mental health is a plus.
